The Douglas County Fox Trotting Horse Breeders' Association

 

A Little About Our Club

We are an affiliate chapter of the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association located in South Central Missouri. DCFTHBA was organized to provide opportunities for the promotion and enjoyment of this wonderful gaited breed.

The Missouri Fox Trotting Horse is known for its Smooth Ride, Excellent Disposition, Surefootedness, Versatility and Endurance.

SCHEDULED EVENTS

The next DCFTHBA Meeting will be held on October 27th
At Lawson Farm. The evening will begin with a pot luck dinner at 6:00 PM and the meeting will start at 7:00 PM. The club will furnish the meat and drinks for the meal.

Directions to October Meeting:
From Ava, go North on HWY # 5 past the MFTHBA grounds to HWY B. Turn left, or west, on HWY B and go to the first right turn or north to Dale and Leah's Farm.

 

Notes From The President -

The October meeting is the official DCFTHBA Annual Meeting. The meeting will consist of the election for the 2008-2009 fiscal year officers. Dale Lawson, nomination committee chairman placed the following names in nomination at the September meeting:

  • Cecil Huff - President
  • Nancy Burns - Vice President
  • Secretary - Rene Carlino
  • Treasurer - Wilma Hamby
  • Board Member - Bob Wheeler

  • Carl Loftis will host a trail ride on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. Note: The ride will leave from the Gentry store at 10:00 AM.

  • The website is up and running at www.dcfthba.com. The 62 rides and other activities are posted on the site.

  • Please note: Since the news letter is on the website this will be the last mailed news letter. But if you do not have internet access please let us know and we will continue to mail you a copy.
