 MFTHBA to Participate at FFA National Convention.
The Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association, Inc., headquartered in Ava, MO, has been invited to participate in the FFA National Convention being held in Indianapolis, IN, October 24-27. This major event involving American youth is expected to have over 50,000 in attendance at the convention.
MFTHBA has been working with the National FFA organization for the past several months to produce a DVD for use in FFA judging of model horses, addressing both breed standards and FFA criteria. This was accomplished recently through the cooperative efforts of MFTHBA members and the expertise of a local advertising agency and television film crew. Copies of the educational DVD, featuring four Missouri Fox Trotting mares, were furnished the FFA headquarters for distribution to state FFA organizations.
The Missouri Fox Trotting Horse, named the State Horse by the Missouri Legislature in 2002, is known for its beauty, gentle nature and comfortable ride, and now delights owners in all 50 states, Canada, Europe and the Mid-East. On Wednesday afternoon, October 24, MFTHBA members will be showing four senior mares for conformation judging by the FFA teams participating in the Horse Evaluation Career Development Event. This will be one of eight equine classes to be judged on Wednesday in the Exposition Hall located on the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
